The Fender HOT ROD series is one of Fenders most prestigious amplifiers for a modest price.
This author had taken all variables into consideration prior to purchasing a fender guitar Amplifier. I list these variables below.
1. Durability and quality in materials.
2. Quality and Fidelity in SOUND.
3. Ease Of Use ,and Transport.
4. Diverse functionality
5. Cost effectiveness , and savings.

Now I had recently taken my time to go down the list of different Amplifier products , having test driven the many different Guitar Amps. I was looking for the one amplifier that could re-produce that true sound of My Fender Telecaster , and at the same time take on Accoustic instruments and still keep their normal sounds pure and tonal.

I Looked at all the brands from Marshall to Mesa Boogie , to Peavey. Where some were saving on cash they were losing on sound. So , I went to the Fender dealer and started right at the top of the line and worked my way down.

I had noticed that the sound quality in the top models was very stabile and could be acutely tuned , but the price was staggering at around $2500.00. I looked to the Twin reverb and was just about ready to purchase this amp. As I was lining up my deal with the sales person , I noticed a very plain looking but beautifully made cabinet. It was missing all the decoration one would usually see on a Fender Amp. I plugged My Telecaster in and discovered that it had all of the tuning quality and acuteness of the Top Model Fender amplifiers. It had the identical sound quality as the Fender Twin Reverb , and sold for about 2/3 of the price.

Having known all along that 60 watts of clean controlled power can be way better than 100 watts of question marks. So I rolled out instead with the Fender Hot Rod DEVILLE 212 model guitar amplifier.

The true test of this amplifier was the following weekend when I used every inch of capability stored into it's easily preset features.

I had taken only a few hours to acquaint myself with it's potential, after which the musical episode which unfolded at that next gig had helped myself and my band to attain the pure country Telecaster Guitar sound that was needed to authenticate our pieces.

I played My Mandolin through it for other pieces under different preset circumstances with smashing bluegrass clarity.

My Dobro sounded more Clear and Treble Steel than ever under even other different preset circumstances.

Our Sound technician had found it simple to install a D/I into the post amplification circuitry by plugging into the post amp through the speaker wire circuit to produce the L6L FAT Fender tube sound through our sound table.

This all boils down to two simple words "Diversity , And Flexability".

Now who will refute that this fine Amplifier could be, and should be used everywhere where fine music is made. Whether that music is Hard Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country , New-Grass, Cajun, Reggae ,or even Classical.

The Possibility and ease of modification to the system suggest that it is also just as flexible in customization for many other sound I/O means.
