| nykari's Full Review: Finesse Color Care Shampoo |
I was introduced to Finesse Color Care Shampoo about two years ago. I spent so much time at my friend's place that I had a habit of getting ready at his place, but I always forgot to bring shampoo and conditioner. So when I did have to shower at his place I used his shampoo and conditioner. We all commented frequently on how his hair was so soft and silky, especially for someone who dyes their hair once a month.
About a month after using his shampoo roughly three times a week, I actually noticed my hair going from dry and frizzy to soft and silky. I was sold. I rushed out to the store and bought some for me to use at home.
I was amazed at how much of a difference this shampoo made. I have tons of curls and I dye my hair ever two months, plus I use a blow dryer, curling iron, gel, and hair spray on my hair daily. Finesse Color Care Shampoo has made my hair much healthier. My hair feels so incredibly soft now, that I am a bit peeved at myself for not discovering it sooner.
Let me touch on why this shampoo is good for people who color their hair. Sure it is great that this shampoo makes your hair soft, but it helps hold the color for a longer period of time. I use the over-the-counter hair dyes and the instructions in the box say that it will last for 28 washings. I generally go two months before I have to redye again. I think that is wonderful.
INGREDIENTS
Water, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamide MEA, Dimethiconol, Silk Protein, Ammonium Chloride, PEG-5 Cocamide, Fragrance, Propylene Glycol, Carboomer, PPG-9, TEA-Dodecylbenzenesulfonate, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E acetate), Absorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Methylchloroisotiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Mica, Titanium Dioxide.
Of course, don't ask me what the ingredients mean or even how to pronounce them for that matter. All I know is that this chemistry of ingredients have a wonderful effect on your hair.
The shampoo bottle is blue with a red wavy stripe that crosses the front of the bottle diagonally. The words "Color Care" are in red as well. On the back of the bottle it explains how it is formulated with anti-oxidants and a UV protectant, how it recovers lost moisture and revitalizes colored treated hair, as well as helping to lock in the color giving your brilliant and vibrant hair. Oh, and for the environment conscious, the bottle CAN be recycled. The recycling bottle code is 1.
Helen Curtis did a great job with creating this shampoo. I don't think I can handle a different shampoo again. I stock up on the travel size Finesse shampoo when I can find it. I would rather my hair go without washing than use another shampoo.
Oh, and one last note. On the back of the bottle there is a web site that you can visit for "Tips and Talks" as well as a phone number (1-800-621-2013) if you have any questions or comments.
