Pros:light weight, and easy to use
Cons:velcro wears out easy
The Bottom Line: This sander is ok for small jobs
When we started building a cabin for my mom we bought a set of 18volt cordless tools called firestorm that were made by Black & Decker. We paid 34.99 for the sander when we bought it from Lowe's which is not a bad price. The sander was a mouse style sander that uses Velcro to attach the sand paper to the sander. A pack of replacement sand paper pads cost 2.99 a pack for a quantity of five in assorted grits from very fine to coarse. Extra batteries cost 33.99 for the 18 volt ones.

We have mostly used our sander for sanding drywall to prepare it to paint. We have had it for just a little over a year. The sander worked well when we first got it. I did like the size of the sander in that it was light weight and easy to handle. The shape made it easy to get into corners and other hard to get to areas. The fact that it is cordless is one of the best features about it. I like it because the cord does not get tangled when I’m working and I can use it in places where power is not available. I just wish they would work on their quality a bit more.
Over the past year the Velcro has gotten to where it will not hold the sand paper in place any more. I have also experienced problems with the battery not wanting to come off with out practically beating it. I guess the button got stuck that you have to push to release the battery from the sander. I have problems with my wrist at times from working in the factories for so many years. So that is why I think they need to make one that the button is not so hard to push to release the battery. That would benefit elderly and handicapped people alike if they made one that was just a bit easier in that respect.
