The Fisher-Price Baby Playzone Sit & Pound Arcade comes with a lightweight red plastic hammer that is supposed to be used to “pound” the 3 included balls through the holes which activates exciting music and fun sounds. There is also a red button that can be pushed for music. This toy is supposed to strengthen motor skills and hand-eye coordination. The Fisher-Price Baby Playzone Sit & Pound Arcade is brightly colored, and the balls are very easily handled even by younger babies due to the size and the ridges.

I have owned the Fisher-Price Baby Playzone Sit & Pound Arcade since my older daughter was 5 months old. It was a gift from her grandmother. Target now has this available as a combo-pack with the Fisher-Price Bat and Wobble Ball for only $14.99! What a bargain!

Miranda (now 18 months) still loves to play with this toy! Her younger sister Madelyn (now 7 months) has enjoyed it even before she could sit unassisted. Never have they really used it as intended, however. Miranda still refuses to use the hammer to “pound” the balls through. She prefers to use the hammer for other purposes, like hitting me. Madelyn prefers to gnaw on the hammer and balls, and watch the lights. Miranda usually just pushes the balls through with her hands. It is difficult to get the balls out of the small opening on the bottom, but Miranda learned early on that she could simply upturn the unit and shake it to get the balls out. She also learned that she doesn’t even really need the balls at all – she enjoys just pushing the activation buttons inside the holes to make music.

In the 13 months that we have owned the Fisher-Price Baby Playzone Sit & Pound Arcade we have only lost one of the balls, and still haven’t had to replace the batteries!

Both of my daughters love this toy, and I would recommend it without reservation.
