IMPORTANT RECALL INFORMATION:
Although I stand by my initial review on this product as shown below, I have just come across some important recall information. No reports of injuries have been made, however, Fisher Price has discovered that earlier additions of the Bounce N Play Activity Dome could collapse and trap a child in a way that makes it difficult to breathe thereby posing a suffication hazard. Fisher Price is sending out an easy to install kit to prevent such occurrences. If you have this product or are thinking of buying it used (new additions have already been corrected), check the bottom tag. If the number 79534 is on the left side of the tag, also check the 6-digit character code on the bottom of the tag. If that 6-digit code ends in a 8 or 9, yours may be affected by this recall. If it is or if you are unsure, call Fisher Price at 1-800-505-0600. For further details, visit the recall page on their web site:

Attention all campers, picnic lovers, beach combers, sunbathers and general outdoor lovers! This one's for you! My daughter was born in mid-June. I love the summer, but you can't put sunscreen or bug repelant one a baby for the first six months. A friend recommended this play dome and how right she was! Its the perfect solution for new parents who don't want to give up their outdoor fun.
One side of the dome provides shade from the harsh sun. The other side provides netting from those pesty bugs. My daughter stayed out of the sun's harmful rays and could still see that I was close by. Also, the bottom is slanted ever so slightly so she could see her surroundings rather than just the top of the dome. In addition, the dome sits off the ground providing her with a more comfortable play/sleep area.
It folds up and travels easily. We took this thing everywhere. Not only was it useful for being outdoors, but it also served as a nice bed for naps away from home. We felt a playpen was just too big to carry around and to overwhelming for her to sleep in at such a young age. This provided the perfect solution.
There are a few drawbacks that I discovered. First, assembly is not a piece of cake. Once its assembled, packing and unpacking it is easy but the first time assembly is a bit of a pain. Second, don't buy it for the toys. They are too high for most babies to reach. Once my daughter was able to grab things, I detached them so she could play with them. The hanging toys gave her something to stare at, but later served more frustration than fun since she couldn't reach them. And finally, I feel the cost is a little high. I definitely got my use out of it, but I sure was hesitant to spend that $50.
