You can't go wrong with a classic toy such as the Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Rock A Stack.
The Brilliant Basics Rock A Stack is -- surprise -- a stacking toy. It consists of five colorful rings that stack onto a yellow pole that is attached to a white base. The rings are made of lightweight plastic and the smallest ring has a clear top with small beads inside that swirl. The rings are bright in color, making it appealing for babies. The colors of the rings from largest to smallest are: blue, green, yellow, orange, red/clear. The lightweight white base has a yellow post for the rings and the base rocks when it is batted (though not so much when it is sitting on carpet).
Baby Grace loves to play with the Brilliant Basics Rock A Stack. She has had the toy for about two months now and loves to play with the rings and the base. She likes to hold one ring in each hand and bang them together. She hasn't yet discovered how to put the rings on the post yet and requires hand-over-hand assistance to do so, but it's a skill that we work on when we play with the Brilliant Basics Rock A Stack. She can pull the rings off of the post by herself.
I like that the Brilliant Basics Rock A Stack is a simple toy. There are no batteries, no flashing lights, no repetitive music. It's a simple toy with endless possibilities for fun with a fun imagination. The rings can later become donuts or bagels for pretend play and can also float in the tub, which can make for a fun bathtime.
Cleaning the Brilliant Basics Rock A Stack is easy, I just wipe them down with a wet cloth if they get excessively dirty.
The Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Rock A Stack just goes to show you that sometimes simple is better.
