Pros: Very fun mirror, large buttons that activate lights and music, volume control
Cons: Microphone doesn't really work
We went out hunting for a fun birthday present for our 1-year-old little boy. This was recommended by friends, so we let him try it out in the store. He loved it!
This toy looked very fun and was packaged in a way that we could play with it in the store. I put it in the shopping cart to let our little guy try it out as I shopped. He could not stop playing with it! He loved the big orange button that he could smack and get rewarded with lights and music. I knew right away that this would be his birthday present.
Setup only took a few minutes and was fairly easy. We just had to connect the orange legs to the mirror base and the little microphone holder to the side. It was ready to be played with within 5 minutes.
All the little kids gathered around the toy and started banging on all the buttons. Each button rewards baby with music, lights and figures popping up. What more could a baby ask for? The blue, yellow and red piano key buttons are all connected and are just one button. Hitting the "piano keys" makes the little figure on the left pop up and hitting the orange "drum" makes the little figure on the right pop up. You can also push the lever down on the horn or roll the ball on the guitar for music.
There is volume control (thank you Fisher-Price!) and two different modes of play (music or songs). There is also a button you can press to skip around to the song you want. The microphone is not real and does not do anything but rattle. However, the toy is activated by sound and the shaking the microphone/rattle will get it going!
If your baby likes to look at himself in the mirror (what baby doesn't!), this is a great toy! They can hit at the buttons and laugh at themselves in the mirror with music playing and lights blinking across the "stage". They'll feel like a star! There are lyrics included in the box so you can sing the songs with them.
