Pros: Stimulating lights and music, grows with your child
Cons: Loud, difficult assembly, too light, hanging toys fall off, overstimulating
The Bottom Line: My daughters do enjoy this toy, but there are negative points to it that make me glad I did not purchase it at full price.

I purchased the Fisher-Price Kick & Drive Gym at a yard sale for $4.00. I bought it when my younger daughter Madelyn (now 10 months) was 4 months old. She has enjoyed this toy to some extent, so its not a total dud. Miranda (now 21 months) didnt get to play with it when she was a baby, but as a toddler, she still enjoys it.
I purchased the Fisher-Price Kick & Drive Gym unassembled in the original box with the manual. While only requiring a screwdriver, it was still somewhat difficult to assemble, taking me about 20 minutes. Fisher-Price claims that this toy is for babies 0+, but I dont see how it could possibly benefit newborns.
The Fisher-Price Kick & Drive Gym offers two levels of play. At the earlier stage, baby can lay beneath the gym and kick the foot pad to trigger the toys overhead to light up, spin and play music. There is a dashboard with a steering wheel, 4 colored flashing lights, 2 dials and a lever that can be lowered so that baby can sit up to play at the second stage. There are 3 musical modes to choose from short play, long play, and car mode.
This gym is brightly colored with red, blue, yellow, green and orange. It requires 3 C batteries that seem to last forever. There is no volume control, and this toy is *quite* loud. It also seems to go off on its own pretty frequently, when nobody is even remotely close to it. Perhaps mine has a glitch somewhere, but either way its annoying.
The dangling toys are hard to reach, but easily removed to play separately. The hanging toys are too easily removed, however. They fall off constantly and while not a choking hazard (they are very safe for chewing), it is a nuisance. Madelyn used to get very frustrated when she would play with this toy while laying down because she just kicked it away from her all the time. It was not very sturdy at all in that respect.
She seems to enjoy the tune and lights, and definitely loves to turn the steering wheel. The bright colors are definitely appealing to baby. I feel that there are many points to this toy though that could have been much better.
All in all, Im happy that I purchased this toy for my daughter at a yard sale in its original box for only $4. Had I paid full price, I probably would have been less forgiving to Fisher-Price. Madelyn *does* enjoy it for the most part, so its not completely a waste.
