From the time that my son was one year old, Fisher Price Little People have been his favorite toys. He has more sets than I can count. His first ones were Main Street and the Fun Park. Over nearly two years of additional purchases, those two have remained his constant favorites.
I love this toy mostly because it is so original. I can honestly say that he has nothing else at all like it. It keeps his interest for hours at a time. And as he's progressed past the age of Little People and moved into "big boy toys", this park has sort of followed along through the transition. He uses it to play with die cast cars now. They don't work on the roller coaster, but he has been very imaginative in using things found around the house for his cars to drive around. This is a favorite place for them to drive.
When I first bought this toy, I was a little disturbed at how easily the airplane ride and the ferris wheel came off. But then I realized that the airplane ride was meant to be removed so you could store the little people and roller coaster cars in the space underneath. And when he removes both of these parts, he sets them up close to the park and appears to be making room so that the little people can form lines and walk up to them. When he is finished, he is quite capable of returning these parts to their proper places.
The only complaint that I have about this toy is that the slightest bit of dust, dirt or other muck on the track causes the roller coaster cars to not roll properly. The won't complete the loop the loop. I felt like I was constantly cleaning this toy for that reason.
