The Parents room for the Loving Family....

Pros: Cute set, lots of pieces, fits other houses.
Cons: For me the parrot, for the girls..none.
The Bottom Line: Great little furniture that will fit all their houses and many others.

Last year I lucked out a garage sale and picked up a Loving Family Special Edition Townhouse fully furnished dirt cheap. Ever since then, I have been hooked on the Loving Family dollhouses and accessories. We now have 3 different house and a variety of furniture. Whenever I see that Toys R’Us is having a B1G1F sale, I pick up a couple rooms to put away until needed.
One of the first sets we bought and opened new is the Loving Family Parent’s Bedroom. I have noticed that the contents have changed and no longer match the picture that Epinions has up. There is no longer a cat or tree.

You get a queen size Sleigh style bed with two pillows
1 night stand
1 Lamp
1 Full length mirror
1 Breakfast in bed tray (which flips)
and a parrot in a cage with stand ( talking)
Now this playset is for the one of the many Loving Family houses but if used in the Loving Family Sweet Sounds house you can get the parrot to talk. We are using him in the Townhouse so he is pretty mute for us.
~All the furniture is made of durable plastic and the bed has it bedding tacked on..on it underside on so we haven’t had a problem losing the comforter. There is also a small thin plastic strap holding the pillows in place and we have decided to leave it on to make sure they stay on the bed..
~The mirror is a play mirror and made of foil so you won’t actually get a real reflection of your dolls. The nice thing is it can be moved up or down and isn’t stationary.
~ The nightstand is your basic table with no opening drawers so one less piece to lose.
~ A lightless little lamp.
~Another cute feature is the breakfast in bed tray. It fits perfectly over a your doll and one side shows a great little meal of bacon and eggs and the other side is a book with some reading glasses.
~The last piece is the parrot and cage with stand. Now I can’t see why in the world Fisher Price would change the cat out for a parrot. I am not a bird person so I can’t see the reasoning. At least the cage is secured and can’t be open so your parrot won’t be able to fly the coop.
~~Playtime..
We all love this set. We needed another bedroom so we opened this one up, I don’t like the parrot but my 2 girls don’t have a problem with it. It is the only bird in the house so it gets lots of attention from them. The furniture will also fit into just about every room in that house so making the living room a bedroom is easy to do.
The few pieces that have stickers on them are still stuck in place and have had no curling.
~~Recommendation
Oh yes..if you are in need of a bedroom set this is a great one. Not only have we used in our Fisher Price dollhouses, but our Little Tikes and playskool houses. I have also noticed that the items that have a Loving Family ribbon attached to them are the ones that will make sounds or talk in the Sweets Sounds house.
This set is recommended for kids 3 and up and many sets may contain small pieces. Toys R’s us stores and online often have great sales were you get pick two up for the price of one. I can't remember what I paid for this but the sets usually run between $9.99 and $14.99. For more information you can visit www.fisherprice.com.
