My girls love their dolls large and small, and with the small ones, they especially like having an accessory in which to enhance the playtime experience. One toy that fulfills their minimum standards and much more is the Fisher Price Loving Family Dream Dollhouse.

The top of the dollhouse has three separate, snap- on additions for a total of nine rooms.

Several accessories are included with this dollhouse, including a family (mom, dad, two kids), furniture, and tea set. Pushing different buttons and objects results in different sounds, like that of a doorbell, clock chime, phone ringing, water running, kids giggling, and songs playing. There are even a few lights for added fun.

Fisher Price Loving Family Dream Dollhouse measures 56 inches by 29 inches by 12 inches. The dollhouse requires some manual assembly and three AA batteries.

The Fisher Price Loving Family Dream Dollhouse is a nice size dollhouse that can keep children entertained with its creative aspects as well as its handful of electronic enhancements. It has multiple levels and several included accessories for hours of fun.

Out of the box, the Fisher Price Loving Family Dream Dollhouse is a little larger than I first expected and it did require a small amount of assembly. A Phillips screwdriver is all you need to attach a few of the pieces and the rest can be snapped into place. The finishing touches involve attaching a few stickers, so the kids can help with that part. Adding a few batteries finishes the job, and the house is then ready to use.

The Fisher Price Loving Family Dream Dollhouse has many fun things to offer and judging by my girls’ reaction, the positive points seem to be spread among many things. Yes, they like the sound effects and at first they got carried away pushing the buttons and listening to the sounds, but they eventually stopped playing with the sound effects and instead turned their attention to general play. They decided to use not just the included family, but also some of their own Barbies and other smaller dolls for added fun. They made up stories on their own as they moved the dolls and accessories from room to room.

The Fisher Price Loving Family Dream Dollhouse is made from plastic but has a solid construction that should last for a long time. I didn’t like having to do some assembly at first, but I quickly got over that issue when I realized how easy it was. I also like that the dollhouse closes shut, offering a place in which to store the dolls and accessories. The pieces are small and would otherwise be easy to lose, but this dollhouse helps hold everything in place.

Looking at other features of this dollhouse, it has no handle to pick it up and carry it around, but the large open windows serve the same purpose. It also has no kitchen, which is a little unusual, but kids can use their imagination, designate one of the rooms as a kitchen, and even add their own kitchen accessories from other toys. These missing items could be considered flaws by some, but they are really too minor to matter and in no way did they take away from my girls’ enjoyment of the toy. The same could be said of the batteries. Replacing batteries is a pain, but the sounds and lights the batteries power are not essential parts of the toy. Your kids can still have fun, long after the batteries die out.

Overall, the Fisher Price Loving Family Dream Dollhouse is a very nice dollhouse from Fisher Price and one that continues to provide hours of fun for my girls. Yes, it does give in to the technological age by including sounds and lights and it does require batteries, but the electronic enhancements are only slight. There is still plenty of creativity in store, making the Fisher Price Loving Family Dream Dollhouse a very good toy and one that my girls are going to enjoy for a long time.
