Wonderful Crib Sounds & Busy baby

Pros: Easy to use. Extremely soothing. Pleasant sounds. Very entertaining.
Cons: Stays on for only 5 minute intervals which is tough for young infants.
The Bottom Line: Excellent as it is great music for an infant and even entertains child who is much older. Buy it.

This is probably the single best infant present I received when my son was born.
I have 3 boys and I had a ton of items before my last son was born. He got this as a gift and now I give it as a gift to all the new babies born that I know.
This sounds and lights Fisher Price Aquarium provides soothing music, vibrations and cool lights for infants. It attaches easily to the crib and uses 6 D batteries.
My son has loved this since he was 3 months old and still at 19 months he plays with it every morning. My 3 year old neice still travels everywhere with this monitor. My son now knows how to change the tune and to use the different features like lights, vibrating etc which can all be turned on or off. It keeps him entertained for at least a half hour every morning. This in itself is astonishing as nothing else keeps him entertained for more than 5 minutes.
The aquarium has a view of fish, a oyster, and sea vegetation, background suttle lighting too. The child can hit a lever to make the oyster open and close its mouth. The child can also easily change the music tune (2 different sounds) and if the aquarium has its lights and/or vibration on with 2 small levers (approximately 1 year old my son figured this feature out but, by 14 months he had it mastered). The ability to turn it on and off is by a big button that a 6 month old could use which is right in the front of the aquarium. The aquarium also has a volume control which is great as not to disturb other children.
Battery life. I have only changed the batteries twice since he was 1 month old and we use it every day. I understand that the older versions of this toy go through batteries much quicker. The newer versions have long battery life.
The only problem that I have with this item is the tune only lasts for 5 minutes. it is easily turned on and off by pushing a big button on the front which a 6 month old could do. I understand the time limit as otherwise it would stay on all night. I wish it had a feature to extend its time.
