| grygomaca's Full Review: Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium Cradle Swing #... |
My 7 month-old twins just adore their Ocean Wonders cradle swings! You could say this product is TWINcredible!
We've been using the swings since our babies were one month old. They were very easy to assemble. And the ocean theme is just adorable!
We registered for these swings when I was still pregnant, without knowing when or why we would use them. Having two babies to care for all day long, these swings are a godsend! I can buy myself a little time with each baby when the other is in the swing.
One important point I want to make is that the swings are very soothing for them. If our babies ever cry inconsolably...putting them in one of these swings always calms them down. It's their little fun place, an exciting distraction if they are upset.
They absolutely love the side to side, cradle rocking motion. I don't understand why anyone would buy the typical swing that just swings forward and back, when there are cradle swings like this one that can go both ways. My twins both prefer the cradle motion, so I never even turn it the other way. But it's nice to have the option.
There are 6 speeds on this swing, which is great. I only use the first/slowest speed. It's soothing and comfortable enough for them to fall asleep if they want to. It's just the right speed in my opinion. The 6th speed is quite fast! So you have a good range to choose from.
The water globe aquarium lights are wonderful, especially at night. So colorful and bright. The lights change color, which is great. They can distract a crying baby immediately. My twins just stare up at them and the motorized mobile of little plush fish. They'll even stretch to try to reach them.
The music and sounds on these swings are really wonderful. You can choose between music (8 songs), waves, rain, stream and of course, no sound. And I particularly love the fact that there is a volume dial. You can basically adjust everything on this swing. So if you want, you can have all, some or nothing on while it swings...for example, you can have no music, no mobile movement and no lights...or you can have one or more of those things. I always use the lights, mobile rotation and music.
Another great feature of this swing I must mention is the reset button. The music/mobile/lights run for 10-15 minutes and then shut off, leaving just the swing functioning. You can just hit this button and the music/mobile/lights will run for another 10-15 minutes.
We use these swings so often that we were replacing batteries (it uses 4 "D" batteries) all the time, so we hired an engineer to wire them to run on electricity. After 6 months of daily use, they are still going strong!
The swings come with a removable tray that has 3 bead-like toys on it. It also folds up...not flat, but the legs do close so you can store it in a closet or something. And there are 2 reclining positions. Mine are still on the lower position, it just seems more comfortable. One other convenient thing about this swing is the removable seat cover and straps. It's all machine washable. I've washed mine several times and they still look brand new.
Between the lights, sounds and the mobile...this swing is sure to keep your baby occupied! We couldn't be more satisfied with a swing...this one has it all, it's perfect.
