I purchased this item because the price was right even though my son was at the top of the recommended age range. He got plenty of use out of it and would probably still play with it today, at 30 months, if I put it on the floor for him.

This is a great toy to build motor skills but there are also ways to help your child's development. It can teach colors. It can teach size relationships. It can teach cause and effect. It can teach balance. And more!

We never really used the rocking feature. It's not much of an arc. My kid probably didn't even notice that it rocked. But he did discover that the yellow peg unscrewed easily from the white base. So this gave him another learning option. However, because the base and peg are easily separated, the peg can easily become a weapon to pound on people or furniture. If stepped on, it will collapse a bit and could get stuck which would require popping it back out. The item is easily cleaned however the base has sticker logos which will start to peel if wet.

When not stacking the rings can be used for a ring toss or for rolling spare tire style.

Once a classic toy that was a part of every child's toy box, I'm surprised to see that it's no longer for sale. If you can find one second hand you won't regret it.
