The Bottom Line: The Fisher Price Elmo Sing N' Hum Baby plush doll may have flaws, but it was still worth the price.
I purchased the Fisher Price Elmo Sing N' Hum Baby plush doll for my son about a month ago. It was an impulse purchase. I saw it on line while searching for some thing else, and just had to get it because it looked so adorable! My son is 18 months old, 17 months old at that time, and I knew it would be easy for him to play with. That is pretty much why I bought it to begin with.

Where I bought it and how much it cost:
I purchased the Fisher Price Elmo Sing N' Hum Baby plush doll from a seller on Ebay. The woman who sold it to me only charged me $5.00 for the Elmo and $4.00 for the shipping to get him here. So my total cost for the Fisher Price Elmo Sing N' Hum Baby plush doll was only $9.00. That price was very fair. I have seen them on line in other stores for double to tripple depending on where you look. I have noticed more of them on Ebay recently ranging from $10.00 to $15.00 so they are still cheap on that site, if you are looking to buy one.
The Fisher Price Elmo Sing N' Hum Baby plush doll is all red and looks just like Elmo. He is wearing a yellow pajama out fit that does not come off. His eyes are completely soft and so is his body. He has a blue and green pacifier which he calls "Binky". This Elmo is roughly 16-18 inches tall on a guess. He is very soft and cuddly. He can not be machine washed. But you can surface wash him with a damp cloth if you like.
Batteries and age recommendation:
The age recommendation on this toy states that it is meant for use by children who are between the ages of 12 months old and two years old. My son falls right in the middle! The batteries come with Elmo but are "Try me" batteries, so I would recommend having a spare set on hand in case the ones in him are worn out. Batteries last along time in this toy. To change them you will need a philips head screw driver to remove the single small screw, that holds the battery pack in. You will need 3 double A batteries.
What the Fisher Price Elmo Sing N' Hum Baby plush doll does:
The Fisher Price Elmo Sing N' Hum Baby plush doll sings and hums. You can choose either mode with the switch on his battery pack. Also before playing, you need to pull the "try me" tab from his battery compartment so he will be in full play mode.
Elmo will ask for his Binky, thank you for it, you will hear him suck on it, he will hum, he will sing a sweet little song and say many small phrases. When you are not playing with him, and he is stable for about 10-20 seconds he will say Elmo's tired, and fall asleep. You will hear him snore and make little noises. Then he will shut off on his own with in just a few seconds. This is great because it really preserves the battery life, should the child/parent not turn the toy off.
My son adores his Elmo. I can't say that it is his favorite toy any longer. But it was for the first week. He tired of it a little. But he still plays with it every few days. And he uses him as a cuddle buddy at night. So even if he doesn't play with him, he still gets daily use out of him while he sleeps at night. That makes the Fisher Price Elmo Sing N' Hum Baby plush doll worth every penny. he really comforts my little guy!
A lot of times Elmo will just repeat himself. Some times he will begin singing the song, but stop and make a gurgling type noise before completing it. despite that, every thing seems to work just fine. I don't find any major flaws with it though.
My thoughts and recommendations:
Well, even though Elmo does not live up to my expectations in a toy. My son loves to cuddle with him, and occasionally does play with him too. I can not complain for the price. I think that it was still a good purchase for the money, even with the few minor flaws that it does have. I do recommend it. Keep in mind, ours just may have a slight defect.
