The Bottom Line: Unfortunately for Fisher and Paykel, the proof is in the wash...and on the floor. Wash is clean when the water and detergent aren't spilled out onto the floor.

We have owned this Fischer & Paykel washer for 11 months. The F&P set replaced our Frigidaire front loader set which did not allow us to determine the water level used for washing. We like our laundry without detergent residue.
We get clean laundry that does not contain detergent residue. Occasionally, we get water or suds on the floor. It doesn’t matter if it’s a large load (sheets or towels) or small load of delicates. It doesn’t matter if the washer is set on auto or manual fill. About 1 out of 8 washes, we get water and suds around the washer. It’s not backwash from the drain pipe—I can tell the difference. It’s either water splashing off of the laundry during refilling or rinsing (from the jet spray) or it’s suds overflowing the tub. And it’s not an issue of using too much detergent because it happens with similar loads, too.
As mentioned in other reviews, the key to a smooth operation and ownership is set up. Since the machine spins at a really high horizontal velocity, you have to make sure that it is balanced. F&P provides thorough instructions about leveling the washer correctly. Additionally, the washer is light so it is a relatively easy task to level the washer by adjusting the height of its feet. But, to ensure that the washer is level, I also used a post level as well as a carpenter’s level.
We still get water and suds occasionally.
My wife’s remedy? Towels. mop, and bucket are always nearby and ready.
