Pros: Huge stainless tub. Really cuts drying time due to spin technology. Very quiet.
Cons: Wellwater pressure MAY be a problem. Fabric softener didn't dispense thru clothes like conventional machines.
The Bottom Line: I liked this machine very much when it actually worked for me. Unfortunately, it was not compatible with the water pressure supplied by my well system.

| pdinCT's Full Review: Fisher and Paykel EcoSmart GWL15 Top Load Washer |
I'm not sure I can give a fair review of the F&P GWL15 since I had problems 80% of the time I owned it.
(only 8 weeks!)
However, I want to encourage potential buyers who's water is supplied by a WELL SYSTEM with LESS than GOOD WATER PRESSURE to think twice. Apparently this machine is VERY sensitive to the available water pressure as it cycles thru the wash phases. The only time I was actually able to complete a full washload was late at nite when everyone was sleeping or out of the house during the day. No showers going, flushing toilets or even rinsing dishes was allowed while this washer was in use!
I purchased the machine at Lowe's. I chose it because of the huge stainless tub, and powerful spin cycle to save time and $$$ drying the clothes. I was impressed with the 2 yr warranty. (figured they were twice as confident of their product than the other guys!) Also, read the great reviews on Epinions.
I immediately noticed that it seemed to take forever to fill and begin agitating. A typical load set on 'Heavy Duty' would take an hour to complete. Most of the time it never actually went thru a full washing before the warning beeps and flashing lites would indicate there was a problem. I was constantly babysitting this machine just to finish a load. (pausing/changing water temp settings/unplugging to reset machine computer/arrowing down to spin so I could start from scratch/not to mention, screaming at the machine out of sheer frustration!)
I actually owned 2 of these machines within the 8 week period because I assumed the 1st one must have been a lemon to be setting off the warning signals so often. After 3 weeks, I called Lowe's and they replaced it immediately with no hassle. When the 2nd one began doing the same thing I realized it had to be some type of incompatibility with my water system. I called Lowe's again and I'm happy to report they're giving me full credit and delivering a new Whirlpool tomorrow! Gotta' love great customer service! anyway....
I think this probably would have been an excellent machine if my home was supplied by city water with normal pressure. The few times it was able to work properly it did a great job on some really grungy work clothes the hubby supplied. The spin cycle did an amazing job of extracting excess water which cut drying time for bath towels in half! It is a very quiet machine. My only complaint was it did not seem to dispense liquid fabric softener throughout the clothes the way a traditional machine does. (Altho, that may also be due to MY water supply)
If I ever move, I would not hesitate to buy the F&P GWL15 again.
