Pros: Came with five year parts warranty, eco friendly, easy to use.
Cons: Breaks down easily, parts are hard to obtain.Few repairmen know how to service.
The Bottom Line: I would not buy another Fisher and Paykel product ever. Buyer Beware.

| jnlrivers's Full Review: Fisher and Paykel EcoSmart GWL15 Top Load Washer |
I have owned the Fisher and Paykel EcoSmart washer and dryer since July 2002. The dryer is a fairly reliable appliance; it has only needed to be serviced once in the time I have had it (the seal on the door needed to be replaced to keep lint from spewing into laundry room). The washer on the other hand is a nightmare. I now am on a first name basis with the repair man who can recognize my address by sight. I have had to get the washer serviced at least twice per year since I have had it. The stack of paperwork I have due to repair receipt is almost an inch thick. The drain pump has had to be replaced twice, and I think it is causing me problems now, the out of balance switch broke off and had to be replaced, the motor has been replaced, the lid is plastic and has broken twice, the agitator fins have broken off and therefore the agitator had to be replaced and the electronic motherboard that controls the washer has been replaced as well. The balancing rods are made of a thin metal rod attached to the washer with (of all things) plastic disks which break too. The machine is covered under our homeowners warranty plan, but I think I am about to cut my losses and just go with a more reliable brand. Parts are hard to get since company is in New Zealand and have taken up to two weeks to order in, service techs are hard to get as well.
