| gammadriver's Full Review: Fisk Sport King A/T Truck/SUV Tire |
(brief rewrite - first post lost)
Four 265/75/R15's came on my 1993 Ford F-150 when I bought it used. I don't think they sell that size anymore, but the 31x10.5x15 would be close.
I have Sport King A/T on the rear, Cavalier A/T on the front, and they have the same tread, same size, same everything. Not sure why they used two different brands, but...
from http://www.etires.com/cavalierbrand.html :
"Cavalier is our house brand tire produced by Michelin. These tires are economical, durable, and give excellent all season traction."
and from http://www.hoovers.com/co/capsule/7/0,2163,43897,00.html
"From cars and earthmovers to motorcyles and aircraft, Michelin North America's tires make the rounds. A US subsidiary of Compagnie Générale des Établissements Michelin -- the world's #2 tire maker behind Goodyear -- Michelin North America makes and sells tires throughout Canada, Mexico, and the US to consumers; trucking fleets; and auto, aviation, and vehicle manufacturers. The company's brands include Michelin, BF Goodrich, Uniroyal, and Cavalier. In addition to tires, Michelin also produces inner tubes, wheels, and maps and guides. Michelin North America's operations include 17 manufacturing facilities in Canada, Mexico, and the US."
So they are made by Michelin.
Using them on down-mountain highway turns, I have found that they seem to not have a cheap, nor thin, sidewall since they handle like Michelin sport tires.
In snow, with tube-sand in the back, I get good traction.
Briefly, I don't believe you will notice any loss if you go with these over BF Goodrich truck tires, save for the name on the side.
I think these are about $20 less than BFGoodrich A/T tires, so I really believe they are worth the money.
