Pros:Straight, clean cuts. Can cut through multiple sheets. Great measurement guides.
Cons:Takes time to master. Bigger/bulkier than most 12" trimmers. Harder to find refills.
The Bottom Line: Great for heavy users and perfectionists (who need the perfect cut). Not recommended for light users who wouldn't use it enough to get used to it.
I am an avid scrapbooker and card maker (CTMH!). This is the best trimmer that I have found. You may have seen other negative reviews. I think it is because this trimmer takes a little time to get used to. If you are just an occasional user, this may not be the best trimmer for you, but if you cut a lot...this is by far the best trimmer.

Purple Version vs. New Orange Version
I have the purple one with green faceplates. Fiskars recently came out with a new orange version, but it doesn't have great measurements on it. If you use 12x12 a lot, the swing out arm wont reach the end of your paper. The purple version has two swing arms, one on each side. This model also comes with wonderful measurement guides imprinted on the trimmer. In addition to imprinted markings on the trimmer itself, it comes with three inserts to make and angled cuts.
Rotary vs. Standard blade
The rotary version cuts much straighter and cleaner than the regular trimmer, and really can cut several pieces at once. It also holds the paper in place so it wont slide when you are making a cut.
Getting used to it
The reason that it takes a while to get used to is because you have to apply more pressure on the blade than a standard trimmer. At first, it might not seem that the blade cuts all the way through. Push the blade down harder--you'll get used to it. Also you have to snap the guide on both sides when you are putting your paper in or taking it out. At first this seems like it takes longer, but again, you'll get used to it.
You can buy replacement blades (but I haven't had to replacement my blade yet after a year!). The cutting strip is a black bar that sits under the blade. This is what helps keep the cuts so straight and clean. After a while, you have to rotate the bar to get a clean surface. You can rotate it up to four times before it needs replaced.(Mine lasted about 9 months).
Because this is an older version, the refills (blade and cutting strip/bar)are harder to find. This is the Ultimate Craft Trimmer #9643 Version E. When buying refills make sure you buy #9633 for the strip/bar and #9647 for the blades. The other versions may look the same, but they wont fit. If you cant find them in a local store, google it. I found them online.
