Pros: Great cardio workout, makes real exercise easy, built-in heart rate monitor.
Cons: Throw away the dreadful Tony Little videos and watch CNN or a movie instead.
The Bottom Line: Excellent machine, well-designed, well-built. Get a refurb from the factory. Make sure you get the "Elite" which has the resistance pistons. Earlier Gazelle models didn't have them.

| epinionateacom's Full Review: FitnessQuest Tony Little Gazelle Glider Freestyle ... |
Last year I discovered that I have a medical condition (super-high triglycerides) that among other things requires me to do cardiovascular exercise at least three times a week. We have a padded treadmill at home but I don't like using it -- it's boring and high-impact. Before that we had a NordicTrak skier and I never used it much either. It was also boring (there is only one type of movement you can do). I had noticed the Gazelle when I was flipping channels one night and saw the Tony Little infomercial. I hate informercials and I find Tony Little irritating. Nonetheless, the machine seemed well-suited for the cardio work I need, and I had to buy something. Through the web I found out that Fitness Quest manufactures them in Ohio, and I was able to get a refurbished unit from the factory for $315 including shipping. It arrived good as new.
The machine (this is the one with the hydraulic pistons for resistance) is the best cardio exerciser I've ever seen. I can get my heart rate up to 125-145 and keep it there for 30 minutes without even breaking a sweat. Unlike a treadmill, bike, or skiier, you can vary what you do: you can lean forward, lean backward, exercise your whole body or only parts you choose. The thing helped me lose 15 lbs. also.
For some reason I didn't complete this review when I first wrote it last year. I noticed it in here, and it's now about 8 months later. I still like the machine.
