The Flamingo Hilton is nothing spectacular. It's like going to a motel six, but larger and a lot more gaudy. Oh, but it does have live flamingos and penguins by the pool. The standard two bedroom is nothing great. My friends and I paid about sixty bucks for the room without reservation. In fact there were many rooms available. Actually the room should have been about ten dollars more but thanks to an unintelligent register woman who couldn't add very well we each had a few more dollars to gamble with. The food was terrible, but all Vegas all-you-can-eat casino restaurants are horrible. Even eating at the MGM grand was a terrifying experience. As for gambling, if you like playing blackjack with three or four decks then you're in the right place, otherwise wander downtown Vegas or go to Circus Circus in Reno for single deck blackjack. Finally, the miniature zoo they have out back by the pool smelled something fierce. There's nothing like smelling stagnant, feces infested water mixed with one-hundred degree weather.
