Over the past 15 years, I have had the fortunate opportunity to stay at many of the Las Vegas Strip casinos, and I keep going back to the Flamingo Hilton.

Ideally centrally located, this hotel offers all of the amenities, gives you the opportunity to earn frequent flyer or Hilton points, and provides large rooms, good food at quality prices, an outstanding courtyard with live animals (depending on time of year, flamingos, penguins, or other featured animals).

I would not recommend it as a "child-friendly" hotel, as it provides little to nothing along those lines, but for a single person, or a couple who wants to enjoy a visit to a Vegas hotel without getting constantly rammed by baby strollers and kids running in the casino areas, this hotel is ideal.

It is across from Caesar's Palace, and easily accessible to all public and private transportation. They accommodate smokers as well as non-smokers.

The rooms are much larger and less "tackier" than the normal Las Vegas hotel room and room service is provided at acceptable prices 24 hrs. a day.

Packages are always available, and if you register for a "Fun Book" plus get a Players' Card at their Customer Center, you will be put on a mailing list for great deals throughout the year.
