We stayed at the Flamingo Hilton for 2 nights in February 2000. My first impression was a very good one. The clerk at check-in was extra helpful and courteous. She upgraded our room for us because ours wasn't ready yet, instead of making us wait until the 3:00 pm check-in time (it was about noon). Our room was spacious and nicely decorated. I liked the safe they provide in the rooms, we used it every time we left the room. We ordered room service twice, and while it was delicious, it did take awhile. We waited about an hour each time. The lunch buffet was also delicious, but I didn't care for the seafood dinner buffet. My husband did, so that may be more of a matter of taste. I love the casino, I had the best luck of the trip there. I suggest the 25 cent Pinball slots next to Bugsy's Bar. I hit on those three different times, payout over a hundred dollars each time. While we got comped buffets (at $30 a pop, great for small rollers like us), I have to say that the drink comps at the slots and VP aren't very good. Again, if you want drinks, stay near Bugsy's Bar. All in all, we had a wonderful time at the Flamingo, and will be staying there again when we go in June. You don't have to be a high roller to be treated like one at the Flamingo.
