The best of the single-cup coffee makers

Written: Mar 21 '07
Pros:Many coffee & tea types available (incl. cappuccino & hot chocolate).
Cons:Can't get coffee packs from a retail store (order online).

I had done some research on the various single-brew coffee makers (Tassimo, Flavia, Keurig, and Senseo) and narrowed it down to Flavia and Keurig. One of the key things I wanted from this type of machine was a quick, well-made
cappuccino and easy cleaning. From what I found, the Tassimo and Senseo both had the option of a cappuccino, yet the final product didn't produce the foam that I expect. Both end up being more like lattes or creamy coffee. (Since then, I have had a chance to try the Senseo and the reviews were right--the cappuccino is not that great and it is a pain to clean.) The Flavia was a great price and offered so many different types of coffee (including decaf), many types of teas, cappuccino, espresso, and hot chocolate. Also, since the system is built to use single pouches that are punctured with a needle, there is nothing to clean! I'm so glad I got this machine and use it often. I especially like that I can make one type of drink and then 30 seconds later, my fiance can make his own separate flavored drink. Highly recommend!
