Pros: Works in 10 minutes with 1-2 trips to the bathroom and no diarrhea or cramps.
Cons: Localized stinging sensation that lasts 5 minutes but is gone once product works.
This is NOT the same product as Fleet Glycerin suppositories, which are a solid suppository. This is liquid glycerin in a plastic applicator, so it is much more convenient and sanitary to use. Plus in my experience the solid glycerin suppositories rarely work.
This has been my laxative of choice for a few years now because it works in 10-15 minutes with much fewer unpleasant effects than other products. You only make 1-3 trips to the bathroom after using this and so it is very close to how your body normally works. You do not end up with diarrhea from this product. Within 30 minutes of when you first use this, you are usually done making trips to the bathroom. You can definitely leave the house 1-2 hours after you first using it without having to worry about an accident or the need to quickly locate a restroom.
A few minutes after you use it, you may have an intense burning or stinging sensation that can last off and on for 5-10 minutes. You just have to hang in there during that time and then it works. After it works, the burning sensation is gone.
Occasionally I have experienced a mild achy sensation in a very small area of my lower abdomen while waiting for it to work, but it is not unbearable. If you lay down on your abdomen on carpeting or a bed while you wait for it to work, that reduces the discomfort. Or you can gently massage your abdomen to make it feel better. It is not like the cramping that people get with most laxatives, so do not let this make you afraid to use it. I have a low pain threshold and would not use it if it was painful. I describe it more as uncomfortable than actually painful.
The little bit of discomfort is definitely not anywhere near as bad as the discomfort of being constipated, so it is definitely worth using because about 20 minutes after you first use it, you are no longer constipated and so you are feeling much, much better. That is worth the 5-10 minutes of stinging at the application site that can be a side effect of the product.
