Have you ever pulled a muscle? Come on, you know you have. It's painful, right? But there's nothing you can do but wait for the pain to go away. Unless you have FlexAll Quik Gel.
The Claim
FlexAll Quik Gel claims to be "Quick Penetrating Medicine for Relief from Painful Muscles and Joints". Does it live up to it's claim? Keep reading to find out.
What It Is
FlexAll looks like a clear goo, you put it on the painful area, and within seconds, you feel a burning tingly sensation. This may not seem very beneficial to you, but when you are in pain, the feeling is great. FlexAll can be picked up over the counter at your local drugstore, or even in a supermarket.
The Ingredients
FlexAll's active ingredients are Menthol and Methyl Salicylate. It also contains Aloe Vera, Cyclomethicone, Glycerin, Hydroxypropyl Cellulose, Propylene Glycol, SD Alcohol 40, Tocopheryl Acetate, and water. Menthol is what gives FlexAll it's distinctive smell.
How It Works
As the container itself states, "The unique FlexAll Quik Gel formula penetrates the skin almost instantly for fast pain relief from sore muscles and joints". This may seem like a bit of false advertising, but as a frequent user of the product, I can tell you it is not. I would guess that the Gel begins to work about 10 seconds after being applied to the skin, and, depending on how much you use, can last up to around two hours. When you put the gel on, you feel a kind of warmness that is hard to describe. It feels like it is heating your muscles and relaxing them at the same time. If you have not tried the product yet, believe me, the feeling is a good one.
When To Use It
It is a bit greasy and smelly, so the best time to use this product is at night. It helps take your mind off the pain to let you go to sleep, and you usually wake up in the morning feeling much better. It is also good to use right before an activity which uses the aggravated muscle. This way the muscle will perform better without being very painful.
Note: While you may feel better in the morning, it is not because of FlexAll. All that FlexAll does it relieve the pain temporarily, it does not cure it. The only way to really cure a pulled muscle is a good night's sleep.
The Competitors
Other products like FlexAll Quik Gel include Bengay, Icy Hot, and Aspercream. However, of all these products, FlexAll has the best pain relief, and it does not cause additional pain the way Bengay does. This may just be a personal preference, but I feel that FlexAll is better than any of these other products. FlexAll also makes other products which cure pain. However, they do not work as fast as the Quik Gel, which makes FlexAll Quik Gel my favorite.
Note: Most of these products have similar ingredients and relieve pain the same way FlexAll QuikGel does. Personal preference is really the key when it comes down to it.
