Barbie, Barbie, Barbie, Barbie! This is all I ever heard from my daughter's mouth. Barbie this and Barbie that.... She absolutely loves Barbie, so when it comes to telling her this Florida Vacation Barbie wasn't really much of anything, her ears tuned me out. She had only received her allowance earlier that day before the shopping fiasco she wanted to venture out on only to come home with this?!?!?! Okay, so I guess ever girl should have a few basic, simple Barbie dolls in their collection, besides, I can't tell her how to spend her money, only make suggestions to save for the bigger ones. But since this was one of the many she's picked up, let's talk about her.

Perhaps the creator of Florida Vacation Barbie is one of those who spends their spring breaks and summer vacations on the beaches of Florida. She comes dressed in a plain ol' bathing suit with her sunglasses attached to her head until either the child pulls them off or you cut them off to prevent damage. Her long flowing blonde hair isn't decorated with glue or extra accessories to get lost and there's no fancy high heels to be sucked accidentally in the vacuum. She's just a Barbie.

These are the types of Barbies I prefer to see bought to be used as models or bathtime dolls. After all, am I alone when I cringe to find a Barbie either I bought or she bought that cost more than $20 floating in a mass of bubbles? To me, it just gets under my skin to see it, so if the Florida Vacation Barbie landed in my shower shelves, I wouldn't be upset, because she's just simple. Some collectors like to buy the simple Barbies and redo their facial makeup, their hair, and design high class dresses for them, now this is a wonderful idea! I love to see their creations when they are done although I don't know how it's done.

Over all, if you have a younger child who's constantly getting in the big girl's collection, these would be a perfect choice to give her (or him) so you won't have to worry about high heels coming out in your toilet. You may want to remove the sunglasses however before giving this Barbie to them. Regardless, she's a cute Barbie and for $5, who's complaining? Mattel sure isn't.
