| zelda1978_2000's Full Review: Fogo de Chao |
My review is based on the Minneapolis Location.
My husband and a coworker went to Chicago about 2 years ago, and ate at the Fogo there, since then he would randomly mention the store, and their experience. In summer 07, Fogo made Minneapolis it's newest home. We decided on going for our 5 year anniversary, since it is expensive. The restaurant is in a good area, and is easy to get to...there is parking at both the city center, and block E, for not too much money.
When you enter the restaurant from Hennepin, the doors are BEAUTIFUL. You are in the bar, it's small, and very busy. Definitly not big enough for the many people who are waiting.
We made our reservation (recommended) a month in advnace, and arrive 20 minutes early, since it was a Saturday. My husband went to order drinks while we waited, and I sat in the bar area. I wasn't sitting for more than a minute when a server brought me a basket of the best-bread-you'll-ever-eat to snack on. 5 minutes later our pager went off to indicate our table was ready. The hostess took my drink and carried it for me - which I thought was very classy. She also pulled out my chair. Within minutes of us being seated a server brought us bread, and took our water order (they offered 3 kinds of water) shortly after we were greated by a manager who took our drink order, and went over the details about dining.
We took off to the salad bar. It was small, but the offerings were amazing, artichoke hearts, fresh mozzerella, sopresseta, marinated veggies, cheese, and bread. Everything had a very good fresh tasted, and I could have eaten that and been satisfied. We finished our salads, were brought clean plates, and turned over our tokens. Almost INSTANTLY we were greated by fresh, hot meat, 3 different sirloin cuts, sausages, chicken, pork, filet, prime rib, and it was ALL delicious, and hot. The gauchos were friendly and efficient, and the food was amazing. My favorite being the filet, it was cooked perfectly to a med rare...and had a delicious taste - I could have just eaten that.
Throughout the entire evening we were checked on continuously, refilling the potatoes, platains, and fried polenta, our water was always full, and we always had food on our plates. There were two managers working that evening, and both of them came to our table a number of times to make sure we were happy.
This place is expensive, our bill was $160, but it was worth every penny, I have no complaints at all. We will definitly be going back.
