Pros:This big red can makes it cheaper.
Cons:Lack of taste, seriously bland, quality is lacking for something labeled "Gourmet Supreme"
The Bottom Line: As I try more and more brands from my past, I find out why most of them need to remain in my past.

I rarely write about food products anymore, as I find that my audience tends to focus more on Sporting Goods, Musical Instruments, and Home Appliances. That said, there are certain things I am passionate about. One of them is coffee. I've watched in horror as several of the large names, such as this one, have gone so far downhill in quality over the past two decades, that they bare more of a resemblance to coloured dish water than what we once called coffee.
Admittedly, Folger's stays fresher in this big red plastic container than it did in the old-fasioned tin. Still, fresh dreck is still dreck. The name, "Gourmet Supreme", is obviously a ploy in marketing names to help our taste buds imagine that we are getting a large container of high quality 5 Star Grade Columbian Bean Coffee. --No such luck there Sherlock. Not only are they obviously using lower grade beans, but this blend is far from pure Columbian. I also detected a strong note of lower grade Brazilian Beans (and I do mean LOWER GRADE as good grade Brazilian Coffee is quite good) as well as some other non- descript blends.
Yes this blend is definitely more "Earthy" than regular Folgers, but that's not saying much. If regular Folgers tastes like coloured dishwater, this stuff tastes like coloured dishwater with some "Earthiness",i.e., extra dirt, thrown in.
This is not a review that I am happy to be writing, but let's face it--this was once a decent brand of coffee. These days it's hard for me to believe that they call stuff like this coffee at all. Folgers is the second worst big brand from the past. For the worst one, you'll have to read my other reviews. Just a hint---It's not really that good--especially by the time you reach,..." the last drop."

This review is kind of Lean because I haven't much nice to say about this stuff. It's rather Mean because I was once upon a time very proud to serve this stuff to company.
