Pros: Phenomenal show, great music, free.
Cons: Shows only if weather is permitting. But that is a very minor con.
The Bottom Line: A beautiful show with clean entertainment that should be appreciated by everybody that goes to Las Vegas.

In May of this year I made my first (of hopefully many) trips to Las Vegas. Aside from the astounding number of people, strip clubs, and casinos, one of the other highlights of Las Vegas is its tremendous number of shows. Some may be indoors and some may be outdoors, but for the most part they are all entertaining in their own way. The Fountains of Bellagio is certainly no exception to this.
What Is It? The Fountains Of Bellagio, very simply put, is a $40 million dollar water show. Located in front of the Bellagio Hotel & Casino, and across the street from The Paris, on the famous Las Vegas Strip, it is a large body of water, a manmade lake if you will, that the show takes place in, but this "lake" is over 1/4 of a mile long. There are over 1,000 tubes of compressed air that take in the water from the lake and, with different pressures, patterns, and locations, rocket the air through the water, making the water in the "lake" jump to dizzying heights. There are also well over 4,000 lights in and around the water that enhance the water display that you see. That aspect of the show would be neat enough, however, there is more. The show is done to music! All around this "lake" there is a boardwalk with street lamps embedded with speakers to evenly and discretely spread the sound throughout the entire viewing area.
When Is The Show? The show has a set schedule that (weather permitting) it sticks to. Monday through Friday the show runs every half hour from 3pm to 8pm, and continues into the night from 8pm to 12midnight with a show every 15 minutes. Saturdays Sundays and Holidays the show runs from 12pm to 8pm every half hour and 8pm to 12midnight every 15 minutes again. This schedule really makes it an easy addition to your Las Vegas itinerary when you visit the city. The plethora of shows enables the visitor to come back multiple times in a day/week if they wish and not ever have to wait long for a fantastic display. Also, the music that the show is choreographed to changes each show so no two shows are alike in the same day.
What Do I Get To Hear? The current set list for the show is:
1. One, Singular Sensation by Original Broadway Cast 2. Hoe-Down by London Symphony Orchestra 3. Simple Gifts by the London Symphony Orchestra 4. Singin' In The Rain by Gene Kelly 5. Rondine al Nldo by Luciano Pavarotti 6. Luck Be A Lady by Frank Sinartra 7. Winter Games by David Foster8. Hey, Big Spender by Gwen Verdon & Original Broadway Cast 9. When Should I Go To This? The shows during the day are beautiful and can really be breathtaking where you can see every detail on the water. The night shows, however, take the cake on this one. The beautiful lighting in and around the water make for an incredible setting for friends, family, or romance. Oh and there is one minor detail I have left out so far about the show. ITS FREE! Thats right you never have to pay a cent to come up and watch this astounding water show. If that doesn't put the icing on the cake I'm not sure what could.
Conclusion I would have to say this spot is a must visit when in Vegas. To be perfectly honest with you, why WOULDN'T you go to it? It's an incredible show, the music is wonderful, the scenerey is amazing, it shows either every half hour or every measly 15 minutes so there is hardly any waiting, and there is never a line to watch, you can pick it up anywhere there is an open spot to stand. And of course, its completely and totally free! I'd highly recommend this good clean family or romance fun for anyone. With the plethora of shows they have, there really isn't an excuse not to go.
