I have been using this headset now for over 3 months, and I would certainly recommend this cordless headset to most people.
I travel quite a bit in the car, and really dislike getting constantly tangled up in headset cords. So, this headset seemed to fit my needs exactly. I use mine with several different cell phones, and there are no compatibility issues whatsoever.
PROS -
1. The unit works as advertised. I am able to roam typically 20-30 feet from the transmitter before I lose the signal.
2. The sound quality is pretty good. I did find out that the earpiece needs to fit perfectly in your ear, or else the sound becomes inaudible. I actually purchased a couple FreeSpeak units, because I noticed that each one seemed to fit slightly differently. Once I found one that really fit, then the sound really came alive. Regarding the microphone, many people on the other end had no idea I was using a headset. That is quite unusual for a heaset without a boom microphone.
3. The headset is quite comfortable to wear for hours at a time, and sometimes I forget I'm even wearing it.
4. You can actually use this headset with just about any phone that accepts 2.5 mm jacks, including most cordless phones found at home. I use mine with both my cordless phone and my cell phone.
5. To anyone considering a Chrysler Pacifica, please note that an option called UConnect provides instant connectivity. Upon entering the vehicle, your cellphone is instantly connected to the vehicle's 11 speakers and microphone built in to the rearview mirror, so there is no need to actually wear the headset. Pretty cool, huh? I am sure this option will soon be spreading to other vehicles in the near future.
CONS - I really only have two gripes.
1. The battery typically lasts less than two hours of talk time. Both a home and car charger are available, but the unit turns off when plugged in. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge the headset and transmitter.
2. The headset fits into the transmitter when not in use, and the transmitter can clip right on to your belt just like a cell phone. However, the headset will often fall out when kneeling, bending over, etc. Once, it fell out while I was putting on my shoes and I did not realize this until I got into my vehicle. It took me a good 10 minutes to find the headset. A more secure fit needs to be engineered.
