Pros: Tasty, great for many recipes
French's Onion Rings have become sort of as American as Apple Pie in a way. Every Thanksgiving homes are putting out the famous or infamous green been casserole topped with French's French Fried Onion Rings, even the health minded homes. We did it again recently for Easter. Unfortunately it didn't go over well. Everything was soggy. Usually it's a big hit. If you still love this traditional side just check the site or container for the recipe. I would suggest adding the onion rings at the very end to avoid a soggy state. Here's the original recipe for your casserole from the site to save you time.
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can CAMPBELL'S? Cream of Mushroom Soup
3/4 cup milk
1/8 tsp. black pepper
2 (9 oz. each) pkgs. frozen cut green beans, thawed*
1 1/3 cups FRENCH'S? Original or Cheddar French Fried Onions
1. MIX soup, milk and pepper in a 1 1/2 -qt. baking dish. Stir in beans and 2/3 cup French Fried Onions.
2. BAKE at 350?F for 30 min. or until hot.
3. STIR. Top with remaining 2/3 cup onions. Bake 5 min. until onions are golden.
Tip: You may substitute 2 cans (14 1/2 oz. each) cut green beans, drained or 4 cups fresh, cooked cut green beans
The French's French Fried Onion Rings also come in a Cheddar flavor.
If you aren't completely done with the green bean casserole try Crunchy Onion Chicken. The recipe is on the container but in case you want to read the recipe first and then decided whether or not you want to try it here it is:
1 1/3 C French's Fried Onion rings
4 boneless skinless,chicken breasts
1 beaten egg
Put French's Fried Onion rings in a plastic bag,(smash this up with a rolling pin or your hands into little crumbs).
Coat chicken (dipped in egg) in Onion Ring crumbs. Press firmly.
Place chicken on your baking pan and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until no longer pink . Easy and delicious.
French's Onion rings are also excellent in meat loaf . Use 1 cup of bread crumbs and 1 cup of crushed onion rings. Just a tip one cup of crushed onion rings are equal to one cup of bread crumbs. Try them on a Baked potato, Chili or canned vegetables to spark things up.

Can is 2.8 oz. You get 11 servings per can. It's a cardboard "can" with a red zip strip area you rip open to get to the contents. The lid will stay on for a bit once opened but with us we empty the can before anyone even My can is good until 2010, that's quite a long expiration time, they certainly do keep on the shelf. Mine even gave a time for use by:6:28 am. I thought this was quite funny.
What you see when you open the can are thin, thin slices of onions, some are even still in a circular shape. They are a golden color and about 1/4" wide but different lengths and shapes. They smell absolutely delicious, just like caramelized onion should taste but with a crunch. They leave a little shine of grease on your fingers and on the inside of the can but aren't overwhlemed with the grease flavor just the nice onion flavor and caramel.
Of course, these are wonderful on a salad, again add them at the last minute so they don't get soggy. Try them in a Waldorf Salad, they are a nice contrast to the Walnuts and Apples. We eat them out of the container when we are cooking with them as soon as a can is opened we're nibbling.
