Pros: Rich lather that makes your hands feel silky smooth. An excellent gift idea.
Cons: Takes a stronger pump action due to its richness.
The Bottom Line: If you want a moisturizing soap with plenty of lather and longevity, this is the one. Plus, it looks great next to the sink.

This is by far the richest moisturizing hand soap I have ever owned or used for that matter. Not only is this the richest hand soap I’ve found, it has some of the most attractive packaging features of any of the hand pump soaps on the market. Milk Hand Wash by Fresh happens to produce the soap in question and offers a multitude of high quality skin care products.
Packaging, from the outside in.
The pearly white lotion is quite visible in this clear plastic 8.3 oz. pump bottle. The white pump top is unique and hefty with an accordion-style look. It looks as good as it did when it arrived in the mail months ago, no scratches on the bottle, nothing to mar its crisp, clean appearance. We use it as our primary soap in the kitchen and there’s no hiding it under the sink when the guests arrive. It looks very clean and, well, Fresh! The pump is a little slower than your average drugstore brand only because the product is so rich it takes a bit longer to make its way through the pump and out into the palm of your hand.
Texture
That longer push is well worth the wait. One, tiny droplet will create a rich lather that takes a few seconds longer to rinse off as it likes to find a home inside the center cup of my hand like no other soap I’ve ever used. If you use it dry before adding water, a small, pearlized drip will come out and will turn clear as you spread it around your palm. It feels like an extra-rich hand lotion before it rinses off clean. My skin feels instantly smoother and here’s why.
The ingredients are loaded with moisturizers and oils not found in your average drugstore brand offering.
• Shea butter – a little research reveals that Shea Butter has been used for centuries for its unsurpassed ability to maintain and protect the skin. Shea Butter, or Karite, comes from the nut of the Shea Butter tree, which grows naturally in West Africa. Shea butter is one of those hot products that show up in many higher-end skin care lines. It does work and doesn’t leave behind any greasy residues as the word “butter” might imply.
• Wheat germ oil - Extracted from whole grains of wheat, it is nature’s densest source of naturally occurring Vitamin E . Vitamin E is often added to skin care products for its moisturizing and antioxidant benefits and its reputation precedes it.
Ingredient list in order of concentration, take note for any skin sensitivities or allergies:
Water, cocamidopropyl betaine, glycerin, peg-120, methyl glucose dioleate, peg-7 glyceryl cocoate, orris root extract, glycol distearate, calendula extract, laureth-2, peg40 hydrogenated castor oil, glyceryl oleate, aloe extract, laureth-3, milk powder, whey protein, aflantoin, shea butter, sweet almond oil, lauryl glucoside, daisy extract, wheat germ oil, imidazolidinyl urea, polysorbate 20, tocopheryl acetate, peg 35, castor oil, phenoxyethanol, methyl paraben, ethyl paraben, propyl paraben, butyl paraben
Like the other products in the MILK line, Milk Hand Wash comes with Milk and whey proteins containing vitamins A, D, and E, work hard to nurture and hydrate the hands while increasing the skin’s ability to retain moisture. While I can’t validate how much of the vitamins added are absorbed, I can say that my hands are softer when compared side by side to my secondary bottles of hand soap.
Fragrance
Fresh wasn’t kidding around when they aptly named themselves “Fresh”. Milk Hand Wash smells fresh in a wholesome, fresh kinda way. Not perfumey, not masculine, just freshly washed, fresh. Goodness! How did they bottle that without adding a bar of Dial soap or something? Dial being the soap I always identified with growing up. Oh how my tastes have matured.
Cost
$20. Yeah, a bit more than a bottle of Softsoap but just comparing ingredients lists…
I couldn’t find aloe extract, milk powder, orris root extract, calendula extract, shea butter, sweet almond oil, whey proteins, wheat germ oil, castor oil…all that natural stuff that sets the two apart.
I’ve been through two bottles of Softsoap and I have a third of Milk Hand Wash still left. The packaging blows them all away.
