arathi's Full Review: Fresh Umbrian Clay Treatment Bar 7.8 oz
Fresh Umbrian clay treatment bar is a clay based facial cleanser that claims to improve the quality of skin, and works on all skin types. The bar can also be used as a mask, and left on the skin for a longer time to get even better results.
I still remember the buyer's remorse I had when I paid $38 for this product. Having used the same Fresh Umbrian clay treatment bar for almost four years now, I have no regrets, and it is a staple in my medicine cabinet.
Pure, Simple Ingredients:
The super short ingredient list, Fullers Earth (Solum Fullonum) and nothing else is extremely refreshing. The fact that it has no preservatives or additives makes it a natural product that is safe for even children to use.
Long Lasting:
I have had my Umbrian clay treatment bar for four years now, and still have enough left of it to use for another year or so. Granted, I don't use it everyday, but even with regular use, the product will last for a year or two.
Absorbs Oil Like A Dream:
Very effective at absorbing oil, the product gives a matte look to facial skin. I have oily skin with occasional acne, and use this product often in summer to combat oiliness. After leaving the product like a mask on my face for 5 minutes, I wash it off to see a fresher looking face with smaller pores.
Helps Pre-Teen Blackheads:
I have been using this product on my 12 year old's nose to help with blackheads. After using this product for almost 3 weeks, the blackheads are nearly gone, and there are no new ones.
Versatile:
The treatment bar is pretty versatile in that I have used this on myself for absorbing oil, used it on my pre-teen for preventing breakouts, used a dab of it on mosquito bites to to calm redness, and used it on my daughter to soothe her diaper rash when she was a baby. The product also travels well, and I have a small piece of the treatment bar in my toiletry case.
Directions for Use:
Moisten the bar, and apply to a wet face. Wash it off immediatly or leave it on for a few minutes as a mask for deeper cleaning. I have also left it on overnight without problems. To make the bar last longer use only one side of it, and dry it thoroughly after use.
While the product is expensive, considering that it is just a block of clay (the Umbrian clay bit is a little sketchy too), the fact remains that it works on my oily, sensitive skin that is prone to acne without causing further irritation. I have always had a soft spot for multi-tasking products that live up to their claims. Fresh Umbrian clay treatment bar has a permanent place in my medicine cabinet despite its price.
