labirdgirl's Full Review: Frigidaire PLD4555RFC 24 in. Built-in Dishwasher
The control panel broke on Christmas Eve. Called the number on the inside of the machine, but all I got was a recorded message directing me to random service providers in my area - the service providers themselves record their info and some did not even give a name, just their phone number -- the whole thing felt very sketchy. I called one guy and he said he could come on Dec 26th. Well, he never showed up. Appt window was for 9-11am. I called at 11 am and he said he was on his way. I called again at 12:30 and left message saying I was thinking of finding another service provider. He called back at 1pm and said he was on his way from wayyyy outside the city. I complained about his lack of timeliness. He called back 20 minutes later and said he had a flat tire and wouldn't make it - guess he didn't like my attitude. I called the appliance store where the builder said he got the appliance, but they don't do repairs. They referred me to a service provider, but they could not come out until Jan 3rd. I called Frigidaire automated line yet again and found another provider. They come 2 days later and the repairman says the control panel needs to be replaced - will have to be ordered and will take a week to get it. I call a week later and they say no distributor in LA has it and it must be ordered from the factory and will take 2 weeks. I got so fed up, I went to Sears yesterday and bought a Kenmore with 5 yr warranty. At least with Sears, I know a repairman will show up quickly.
I wasn't happy with the job the machine did even when it worked. The glasses would have a gritty film on the inside that wasn't there when I put them in the machine. I started rinsing everything thoroughly before putting it in the washer, but that didn't solve the problem in the glasses - so I constantly had to handwash them before putting the away in the cabinet.
