My partner & I made reservations at Fringale about a week prior to arrival in San Francisco. We had heard good things about this restaurant.
It is located on a busy street, close to the new stadium. We took a cab to Fringale, but it appeared that parking could be a problem.
We were seated promptly upon arrival at a small table next to the window. The atmosphere is nice & somewhat simple. The restaurant is small, but not too crowded.
Our waiter was pleasant & knowledgeable. He was attentive, but not overly friendly. He also had a French accent. The service was impeccable from all: host, waiter, busboy.
We started with a Maine crab salad, which was plentiful & tasty. For entrees, we had the pork tenderloin & the grilled Halibut. The pork was so tender that I could cut it with my fork. The flavor was magnificent. The halibut was grilled to perfection: flaky, but moist. The sauce was very complimentary to the fish. The portions for both entrees were generous.
From a price perspective, it was a great value. The entrees were $16-$19.
I would highly recommend this restaurant.
