Though our last kitten has long ago grown up, I still feed kitten food as a change of pace to those of my cats who eat canned cat food.
Why Feed A Kitten Canned Food?
Kittens transition best from mom to eating on their own, in my opinion, by starting out on soft, canned food with good taste and appealing aroma. It is important when weaning them, to offer the wet food several times a day, but do not let the food sit out longer than 20 minutes. It can quickly spoil, especially in the warmer months.
Friskies® Kitten Food - Turkey Formula
All the canned kitten foods by Friskies® come in 3 oz. cans with a convenient pop-top lid that is easy to open. The texture is soft, well ground with a bit of clear jelly (or aspic if one wants to be fancy). The aroma is not offensive, color is a generic "cat-food beige". Kittens, like adult cats, will be just as individual and particular in their dietary tastes, so you will have to try this formula to see if your kitten will eat it.

Feeding Your Kitten
Per the label, feel your kitten all it will eat 3 to 4 times a day (but keep in mind what I said, food spoils, do NOT leave this out for longer than a set time period...15 or 20 or 30 minutes maximum). Be sure to refrigerate the unused portion of your Friskies® Canned Kitten Food Turkey Formula. Keep plenty of fresh, clean water available at all times. Remember that little kittens tend to dip those little paws into their water, leaving behind the food they just walked in, and any litter that has lodged between their toes (grooming is an art that kittens take time to learn to do well, including "toe maintenance".)
Bottom Line
I can only rate this food as being average, due to its use of by-products (two kinds - meaning a higher proportion of this food is a less than the best quality of protein source). In a pinch, since this is a food easily found in your local grocery or pet store, I'd recommend this food. And as always, if dealing with an ailing adult or a senior with an off-appetite...use what ever it takes to get them eating again! I give this product 2 stars.
