It is rare that I do not have a caveat of some sort with Friskie's Fancy Feast labeled foods. This is one of their best, and is truly a "gourmet" cat food.

The Taste Test
Oh why string this out. Ophelia who doesn't like fish or seafood (except for Kitty Kaviar® - a product I look forward to reviewing for Epinions someday), likes this. Patrick, who has a finicky appetite due to the acid stomach/nausea and inappetence that go along with Chronic Renal Failure (one year out and holding his own with treatment), really likes this, if it's a day when he's feeling like eating. The Others...you've got to be kidding. Do you really think they ever turn *any* canned cat food down?

What You Get for Your Many Pennies Per Can
An easy to open pop-top (nice, easy to manage metal unlike 9-Lives cans that are constructed out of *serious* metal that can and will a)be difficult to open, and b) cause quite the ouch if you are careless while lifting and discarding the lid.), a dainty 3 oz. net wt. of product, and one of the best, unadulterated, un-laden with junk, canned cat foods on the market. Yep...Fancy Feast has in my opinion, with this flavor, one of the best foods for your fish-loving feline.
So Open the Can Already
Pop! Aroma...as pleasant as the Smoked Kippers I've learned to love. Visually...fish, tiny whole shrimp and crab bits in a clear firm aspic. The fish is "real"..skin is on, bones are there, the shrimp are recognizable as being shrimp, the crab is in small bits and pieces. It is a "plain and simple" food and I commend Fancy Feast for going this route. It compares extremely favorably to Pro Plan Sardines With Tuna.

Ingredients List - Short and Sweet

Sardines, Fish Broth, Shrimp, Crab, Vegetable Oil, Carrageenan, Guar Gum, and a host of added Vitamins and Minerals. Does Not contain BHA/BHT or Ethoxyquin. Guaranteed to meet AAFCOFeeding standards.

Crude Protein is at least 13%, Crude Fat is at least 2%, Crude Fiber is at a max. of 1.5%, Ash is a max of 3.7%, Taurine is at least 0.05%.
