Quality canned cat food is an important topic in my household. I find that Fancy Feastgourmet cat food by Nestle Purina Petcare Company, has an extensive offering of flavors, textures and blends that my cats enjoy. How did the Chunky Turkey Feast rate with my cats, and with me? Did they really do a Turkey Trot in delight? Read on to find out!
~Texture, Taste and the Turkey Trot
The texture of Fancy Feast Chunky Turkey Feast is coarse ground, like a thick pate, there is no gravy. Patrick, my oft-mentioned almost 17 y.o. Cream Lynx Point American Curl, dealing with health issues such as Chronic Renal Failure and Lymphoma, is often my taste-tester of choice due to his appetite issues. He ate more of this food, in one standing, than most. He was eager once he'd had his first taste, to eat to his fill. This is what I most want for any food I give to him. He gives this flavor ~four paws up!
The Turkey Trot was/is a real dance, considered controversial, even got itself banned, popular to dance to ragtime music, back in the early 1900's. I don't think a cat could quite co-ordinate itself to do this dance as it is described, but they surely can do part...we've all seen cats raise up on the ball of their foot (the tootsie-toe 4 step) and that counts as one move of the Turkey Trot! Did Patrick do the Turkey Trot in delight? Nope, but he went off to his morning nap with a cat smile on his face, which is good enough for me.

~Final Thoughts
You probably have a number of reasons you feed your cat or kitten wet food. Depending on the reason, Fancy Feast Chunky Turkey Feast may fit the bill. If you simply want to increase the water intake of your cat by feeding a moist food, if you wish to put weight on a frail senior catizen, if you have a post-dental kitty needing a soft diet, a post-surgical cat not feeling like eating just yet...for all of these reasons, this flavor would earn a Four Paws Up rating from me. If your goal is a premium, gourmet food with the best available ingredients on the market, this is not the food for you due to the use of: by-products, artificial flavors, thickener additives such as guar gum, carrageenan, and soy protein concentrate.
In the final analysis, this is a food that elicits good response from my ailing, senior cat, but falls short in its quality of ingredients, making it overall, merely an average food.
