Pros: Wide variety of food and beverages
Cons: A little rough around the edges
The Bottom Line: We would definitely recommend the Front Street Ale House to all of our friends. It's a wonderful place to eat and the "staff" members are a real hoot.

| bobbysmith's Full Review: Front Street Ale House |
My family convinced me to take them to Friday Harbor during a recent trip from OC to Canada. How many people visit that island paradise during February? Apparently thousands during a President's Day Weekend.
Front Street Ale House is located conveniently on the corner of Spring and Front Streets a mere stone's throw from the ferry landing. What do they say about location? Well, with a location like that, who needs to advertise?
The five of us arrived shortly after noon on a Monday morning and as spitfireguy noted in his review the establishment was packed. I suggested we go someplace else to eat, but my wife countermanded my suggested. The owner was rushing around the restaurant seating customers, cleaning tables and taking orders. Considering he was the only waiter, bartender and busboy, service wasn't really slow. It was very entertaining.
We were unaware the Ale House was also a brewery so when the "waiter" asked if he could take a drink order he suggested my wife might enjoy the Old Islander Winter Ale, and for me, the Royal Marine India Pale Ale. Our kids ordered soft drinks and my sister-in-law ordered a Tutti-Frutti.
The IPA is amazing! So is the Winter Ale! We couldn't believe how good these ales were.
I'll be honest. It did take some time to get our food. But once the food arrived, it was well worth the wait. The children's burgers were inexpensive and prepared just the way our children like them. The Jalapeno Fish & Chips were great. And the "bartender's" recommendation to try an Ale Diablo with it was yet another amazing combination. The British Style Fish & Chips were excellent as was the BLT.
Overall it was an outstanding dining experience. As I said, amazing beer, food and service. If we're ever in the Pacific Northwest again there's no doubt in our minds we'll be back for another treat at the Front Street Ale House.
Thank you very much for a wonderful time.
