| spitfireguy's Full Review: Front Street Ale House |
The Front Street Ale House, affiliated with the San Juan Brewing Co in Friday Harbor, Wa. offers about a dozen outstanding, on premises brewed beer plus a full restaurant menu. After ten years of sampling micro-brews throughout the northwest and British Columbia, I find that this establishment has the overall finest selection of quality beers I have yet encountered. I am especially fond of the lagers which are ,sadly, in short supply in the summer months.
The food is of the "comfort food" variety and is usually quite good. Very good fish and chips and burgers. And you can get fresh mashed potatoes or even "bubble and squeak" The service is also quite good but patience may be required during those busy summer days when it is obvious that they are overwhelmed with customers. Located right on the end of the main street with a view of the harbor, it's right in the middle of everything going on in the busy waterfront town. Overall the beer is outstanding and the food and the service is quite good. Did I mention that the beer is outstanding?
Located at Friday Harbor, San Juan Island a 2 hour ferry ride from the mainland.
