Frontline is, without a doubt, the best flea product you could buy. I am a nurse at a veterinary clinic, and write this review not only from personal knowledge but professional as well. It is easy to use, and unless you have a hyperactive or "squirmy" dog, you probably won't need any assistance in applying it! The hardest part is that you've got to remember to apply it every month (but the company helps with that by enclosing stickers you can put on your calendar!)
It is a little more expensive than other brands, but the saying "you get what you pay for" absolutely applies here! I have seen many animals come in to the clinic where I work having seizures and other allergic reactions to those cheap brands purchased at the grocery store. The cost varies according to the weight of the animal, so the bigger your pet is, the more you will have to pay. It used to be available only in a 3-month supply but now you can buy a box of 6, and they are currently running a promotion where you get a free application if you purchase 6.
This is the only product I have ever used on my own dog and have never seen a flea on him, nor has he ever had any type reaction to it.
The vet clinic where I work offers a few types of flea preventative, but Frontline is the one that I recommend most often to clients. I have spoken to very few people that said this product didn't work, & it ended up always being because of improper use (examples: bathing immediately after applying, accidentally purchasing the wrong size, etc.) It is safe and effective as long as you use it properly!
