Pros: Easy to use, decent quality, very cheap.
Cons: No advance features and no lens protector
The Bottom Line: Great camera for the price. Don't expect 35mm quality photos but you can take some really nice pictures with this camera. Nice size too.

| thechuunt's Full Review: FUJIFILM FinePix 2300 Digital Camera |
The Fuji FinePix camera is the ultimate beginner camera; easy to use, small, and all around convenient. I purchased my camera online and it shipped with 8MB standard memory. This was not enough since I needed the camera for many usages – i.e. taking pictures of friends, scenery, and of items I would sell on eBay. I did not want to spend too much money since I only wanted decent quality in a nice package. Also, since memory is dirt-cheap I bought 64MB instead of the standard 8MB. The Fuji FinePix fit the category completely. With 2.1 megapixels this camera actually takes amazing pictures. Let me touch on its high points.
Ease of Use – this thing is as easy as point and shoot, no lie. It has a one-touch photo feature that makes it point and shoot. Also, the camera doesn’t have too many buttons so a novice won’t get dumbfounded. If you’re using win98, 2k, XP all you need to do is plug it in and you have a new removable drive. Your pictures are transferred via USB and works extremely well. The speed isn’t close to firewire but it’s fast enough for most practical purposes.
Price – this is probably the one thing that will attract most buyers to this camera. It’s has a relatively high megapixel rating and has everything any camera will need. If you’re looking for a budget camera – this is what I was looking for – this is the camera that you should purchase. All the add-ons like batteries and extra memory won’t dent your budget either.
Durability – I’ve had it for over 6 months and have had no problems. I use it at least twice a week and have dropped it two times. Now I don’t recommend dropping it but it didn’t mess up. One gripe I have is that the lens doesn’t have anyway to be protected. I haven’t gotten a scratch on it but I can see how this could be done if not precautious.
Battery Life – believe it or not this is where you will lose most of your money. Digital cameras suck the battery! The battery is gone after 130 high quality shots – 350 low quality. I recommend you go out and purchase NiMH (that’s nickel metal-hydride) and a charger. These things can be recharged countless times and remain strong for battery sucking devices.
Photos and Photo Quality – 2.1 megapixels is enough in my humble opinion. If you’re a professional photographer you can go out on a limb then buy something more expensive by all means. But if you only need it for simple straightforward pictures then 2.1 is enough. You have various resolution options all the way up to 1600 x 1200. At this quality you’ll get beautiful pictures and the size is roughly under 1MB per picture. This is actually good for wallpaper pictures.
Specs – here are the specs provided:
2.11 Million Mega Pixel
2.5X Digital Zoom ( this feature needs a lot of work )
7 White Balance Modes ( this feature is not that easy and I still haven’t figured it out )
½ - 1/1000 Sec. AE Shutter Speeds
64 Zone TTL Scene Metering
Flash Modes – Auto, Red-Eye, Forced, Suppressed, Slow Sync
Uses AA Alkaline batteries – ( buy NiMH like I mentioned )
Overall – I recommend this camera if you are a budget user looking for a good quality, easy to use, and efficient digital camera. You’re not going to produce any Pulitzer Prize material but you’ll sure be given the frugal award if there was one!
