Pros: Easy to use, lightweight, takes great quality pictures, 10 second video.
Cons: xD card does not fit into most card readers.
The Bottom Line: If you're not a professional photographer, then I would highly recommend this camera. For about $150, you get a lot of the features you see in $300-$400 camera's.

| coffeedrink88's Full Review: FUJIFILM FinePix 2650 Digital Camera |
I bought this camera for my wife for Christmas 2003 and we have had a lot of fun with it. It's a great camera to take on vacation because it's lightweight, easy to use and you don't have to carry around a lot of film. The picture quality is great, the autoflash works well, and it's easy to view the pictures in the view finder.
The as I mentioned the picture quality is great. I take pictures with the maximum detail setting, you get fewer pictures on the chip, but the quality is great. Even though the zoom on the camera is 3x, when you download the picture to your computer, you can zoom in and crop about 1/4 the picture and the quality is as good as the entire picture.
Another nice feature is the ability to do a 10 second video. This is as easy as taking a picture. Just flip the selection switch to video, hit the button. If you don't hit the button to stop it will automatically stop after 10 seconds. Sometimes things happen where 2 or 3 photos just doesn't tell the story.
The pictures are easy to download to your computer with the USB cable and included software. I have a 1.4 ghz system with 512 mb ram(so not a monster system) and it will take about 30 seconds to download 20-25 pictures. I have not hooked up the camera to my USB 2.0 port, but I would imagine that would be a lot faster.
The one thing I don't like about it the "xD picture card" memory chip. It's proprietary and will only work in the fuji camera. Unlike the more versatile memory stick. When I first got the camera I could not stick the chip in any chip reader, the only way I could download picture was via the USB port. I have noticed recently that some of the new chip readers have slots for the fuji xD card.
If I were a more serious photgrapher, this camera would probably come up a little short on features. But it's perfect for us. We use it on vacations, family get togethers, trips to the zoo, events with our kids, etc and have yet to take a bad picture.
