Pros: I adored the camera and took awesome close up shots
Cons: It died an instant quick death with no warning!
The Bottom Line: Can not recommend since having my bad experience with it.

| nannyratz's Full Review: FUJIFILM FinePix 3800 Digital Camera |
I have always loved my Fine Pix 3800 and had no problem with it until a few days ago. I have had it over 2 years. All at once, the ring around the main lens became loose. I taped it on so it would not fall off. I could tell something had broken but did not want to take it apart to find out and just hoped it was a pin and I could survive with the tape. Tonight I went to turn it on and it is dead. I just used it a few hours ago with no problem. I went on line and found someone who had had the same experience as me and he says that there are 3 screws. I took the lens off and 2 screws fell out but the third is nowhere to be found. This person said he found 2 screws and the 3rd lodged in the on/off switch and arched and blew his camera out. I don't have a screw driver small enough to take the camera apart and when and if I can get it apart I hope that screw will just be lodged and have done no damage but the heart break is my $400 camera that I have treated like a baby and taken such good care of (including adding several hundred dollars in accessories) now is no longer working. The cost to fix it would not be worth it. I could buy another. I just think when you make an investment such as this, it should be forever as long as it is taken care of. Apparently this model has a major flaw that Fuji needs to address but how do you get to them?
