The Fuji Finepix is a great digital camera for the everyday camera user. For the family, college student or vacationer, it is a very good affordable choice. The body is appealing to those camera users who can't let go of that 'camera' shape, who want something substantial in their hands. The only problem I have found with the body is the lens cap; It does not stay on very well. The buttons are all easy to use, and can almost all be pushed using only your right hand (even while you are holding the camera). The ridge on the back right side of the camera makes it very ergonomic and comfortable to hold. The display is bright and clear, but it could benefit from higher resolution. It is sometimes difficult to tell if your picture was in focus because of this. One of the features I loved about this camera compared to the Sony's I tried, was the much shorter shutter lag. This camera takes beautiful pictures outdoors, and okay ones indoors. I would say that the outdoor pictures are print quality while indoor ones generally are not. They are okay to share with family, but that is it. The flash is nice when used in darker areas, because (unlike other digital cameras) it does not completely wash out everything in the picture. One of the main pros about this camera, is the ability to use 'aa' batteries in it, not some expensive special camera battery. We have used energizer NiHM rechargeables quite successfully; I do not recommend using regular 'aa' batteries. Our Finepix has lasted through over three years of repeated dropping and excessive picture taking. My son was born one year ago and I have already over 4,000 digital pictures of just him!
