| kavoon85's Full Review: Fujitsu LIFEBOOK C6581 (FPCM57037) PC Notebook |
The only companies that are trustable in my opinion is Toshiba and Fujitsu. These two companies have made a name in the Notebook scene. What makes this notebook special is its price and its features.
Being priced at US$1,199.00 ,This notebook has the following specifications :
Processor(determines the speed of the computer):Pentium3 800
Cache Size: 256 kb (standard)
Installed Memory(more memory=faster): 128MB SD RAM but there is a promotion lately letting you upgrade it to 256MB SD RAM for free.(256MB SD RAM is max for this notebook)
20 GB Hard-Drive(more than enough space to store your information)
The Notebook also comes with a standard 14.1" screen which can produce a max resolution of 1600x1200 pixels(the higher the number the more detailed the screen will be) and a AGP 2x - ATI RAGE 3d card(good enough to play even 3d games)
This Notebook is also capable of Networking(connecting computers together to share files etc.). It has a fast ethernet card in it which worked well(tested it with my desktop).Getting online is also not a problem, the notebook comes with a built-in 56k modem. All you need to do is plug your phone line into the socket at the back of the notebook which has a "telephone line" sign.
The notebook has 4 usb ports,1 iEEE 1394(firewire) port, video input and a parallel port. This is where my problem comes in, the notebook doesn;t have a serial port. Serial ports are mainly used for Old mouse and also to transfer files the old way(using a serial cable). However this problem was solved easily by getting a parallel cable to transfer files instead.
Another problem I had with the notebook is the speakers. The right side of the speaker stopped functioning after 3 months using it most probably due to my rough handling since there are no such complaints from other users. The speaker is just a small part of the notebook and can be easily changed at a shop. Let me choose again and I will still buy this notebook.
The softwares that came with the notebook was an original copy of Windows ME, Fujitsu Diagnostic tools,Recovery tool and a disc for software drivers. Fujitsu was also offering a free WinXP upgrade which i gladly accepted.
Customer service was excellent, I got a confirmation in my e-mail stating that the cd has been sent out and true enough, the cd arrived by post not long after that.
There is no serious reason why you shouldn't get this notebook considering its price ad specifications
