Pros: Futuristic style, many features, good reception even from distant rooms
Cons: Difficult to get keypad to light up, slips easily out of charger
The Bottom Line: So many high-tech features, but they forget some of the low-tech conveniences. Still, great reception, and holds its charge

| spacegal471's Full Review: General Electric 27910GE1 2.4 GHz 1-Line Cordless ... |
This phone represents some of the latest in cordless technology. There is a lot that GE got right. The reception is so crystal clear, even in distant rooms, that you forget you are talking on a cordless. The futuristic style means the phone looks as much like a high-tech decoration as a telephone (mine is black not white as in the above picture, so both colors are available). The phone has so many features that it would take a full day to figure them all out. It has nominal features such as redial, then it has speed dial, and a whole bunch of other features I never did become acquainted with. I would guess the average phone user never uses all of them. Then end of the antenna blinks when the phone rings and lights up red when the phone is off the hook. The volume is controllable by the keypad. In the midst of all these features, I can tell that the keypad is supposed to light up, but I have yet to figure out how. When you need to call someone in the middle of the night, it doesn't work to have to play with the phone to find the light feature. It should have one-touch keypad lighting, but that was left out of this high-tech package. Furthermore, it barely rests in the charger base, so that any small bump send the phone sliding out, or you have to really concentrate to balance the phone back in the charger. The phone holds it charge out of the charger. I have never run down my charge, and I have left it out of the charger for 1-day periods.
