| bizzymammabee's Full Review: General Electric DBVH512GFWW / DBVH512GFGG Gas Dry... |
I purchased the GE Adora Front Loader Pair in February when my old dryer broke down. I figured I splurge some and from what I saw of the set I believed that they would be good. The price was great compared to the Maytag and Kenmore set up.
About a month ago I had used the dryer in the morning and it worked fine. After my daughter's pool party I had a ton of towels to wash and dry. When I put on the dryer the timer wouldn't advance nor was I able to change the dryer settings at all. It was just frozen. I tried to no avail to get it to work including the recommended unplug/replug. Anyhow I tried to set up service but saw that I had to wait three weeks. So I gritted my teeth and scheduled the service call online. Three days later I said well let me see if it will work...lo and behold it did work. So silly me I just cancelled the service call. I had figured that maybe one of the many small children at my house that day had played with the dryer. Anyhow I should have left the call and have them check it. Now a month has passed and the same dang thing happened. The dryer and washer is only six months old. The washer is great and I have no complaints about it. Anyhow the same thing happened and I was able to schedule a service call for the following week. I ran through the usual hub bub that is recommended in the book and then the following day it started working...this time I didn't cancel the service call. The tech was great. He hooked up the dryer and said that he wasn't getting any error messages but that is not to say that something can't be wrong. He ordered a whole replacement for the electronic panel and told me that he would be back to install it. He was back just like he said and replaced the whole panel. Well two days later the dang dryer is doing something different. No matter what cycle I put it on a few minutes into the cycle it beeps 3 times and then the timer resets itself to all zeros and it shuts off. So now I have rescheduled the servicing again. It's two weeks of a wait this time. God help me.
I have to say other than this little issue with the dryer I do love the washer/dryer pair. They are fairly quiet. The cycles do run a bit long on the washer but in light of the front loading it's to be expected.
